1906 Bird’s Eye View of Saint Paul
The public is welcomed and encouraged to attend tonight’s HPC meeting (November 3rd) to learn about the findings of this important survey work which focused on portions of Payne-Phalen, Thomas-Dale and West Seventh neighborhoods.
From the arrival of Zebulon Pike in 1805 to the West End of today, a number of recurring themes shaped this community’s development.
The name Frogtown dates back to the 1860’s and 1870’s. Father Alexis Hoffman states that the area was called “Froschberg” or Frogtown because of its swamps.
